This coffee is grown in Guatemala in the district of Petatán, Huehuetenango’s region, by 80 local indigenous farmers.
It was born from the collaboration started in 2020 between the Certified Speciality Coffee association CSC and the non-profit organization Amka, which was responsible for ensuring technical training and distributing agricultural material for cultivation, by entrusting the harvest to the cooperative Luxcafè which, in turn, took care to classify it and ship it to Italy.
The project promotes the development of the productive and commercial activities of small farms, thus contributing to improve the particularly fragile living conditions of local women.
This coffee is also certified by CSC that guarantees the top level of the individual origin, carrying out checks from the plantation to the cup.
Once extracted we have a smell perception of distinct notes of amaretto and white chocolate, a taste which resumes notes of bakery with the addition of a strong hint of red fruits, in particular the one of the currant.
The coffee cream is thin and compact with a silky body.
